Political and administrative boundaries shape national identities as much as nationalist groups carve the geography of their homeland. A dynamic approach to national-territorial identity formation allows a better appreciation of the diversity of spaces other than state boundaries, and of political projects other than sovereignty, that help to define nationalist groups and territories.
